Custom-built bars are a Wood Studio specialty: We design, construct and install bars to meet any and all requirements as defined by customers who have specific needs and criteria. Every bar is unique and carries our stamp of quality while expressing your personal preferences and reflecting your taste and style.

The Wood Studio’s custom-built bars can be constructed from a variety of fine solid timbers, including Mahogany, Teak, African Rosewood, Kiaat, Maple and Beech. We’ll also happily include various components like fridges, mirrors, stools and ice-making machines.

This Customised Knights Templar Bar was made from solid Meranti in a Raised and Fielded panel style. The timbers were stained to an Ebony colour. A Bulkhead was created with a Raised and Fielded panel design. The Bulkhead has a false ceiling within which a steel structure, affixed to the window wall and right hand wall to ensure security of the weight of timbers. This steel structure is designed to take the weight of the Bulkhead especially on the overhang away from the wall side of the counter.
The Bulkhead was designed to display the Family Crest plaque in the centre of the Bulkhead run facing the entrance to the bar area. It had five Knights Templar icons – these icons were at each end of the Bulkhead run, the middle of the Bulkhead end and in the centre of the bulkhead facing the displays.
A Bar Counter was created under the Bulkhead. The counter has an Eezi-Quartz Silver Star top. A Cabinet was created at the rear of the bar for the Ice Making machine. The Ice machine was seated on a pull out tray. Space was created for a 2 door stainless steel under Bar fridge next to the Ice machine.
The Bulkhead has warm white LEDs. The wall to the right of the bar counter was panelled to the underside of the bulkhead to complete the design.The Bar stools were supplied by Woodbender and one Bar Stool was handmade with arms and a swivel seat.

A Bar in Blue and Grey
A main counter was built and painted. Rustenberg stone was used for the counter top. Blue LED lighting was placed under the bar counter. Grey Duco Framing was created for the displays which had Grey Mirrors and 10mm glass shelves installed. Blue LED lighting was installed at the top of the display

This bar was designed to complement the open plan design of the ground floor of the house. The bar top, front and rear serving shelves were made from Technistone Bianca Mirror stone. The frontage of the bar was clad with Crystal Quartz Riven stone surrounded by solid Mahogany framework.
Mahogany Veneers with solid Mahogany edging were used for the float mounted Display panels which had 10mm glass shelves. A timber boxed foot rest with stainless steel tubing was installed along the front of the bar to finish the look of the Bar.

A space was created under the front serving shelf for refrigeration. Dulux Grey steel Duco finish was used for the divisions of the displays. Two Cradle wine racks were created at each end of the back wall. The displays had Silver mirrors and 10mm glass shelves were installed. A boxed foot rest with steel tubing was installed along the front of the bar. LED down lighters (steel finish) were supplied and installed in the display units.
This Bar top and front serving shelves were made from Technistone 20mm Classic Ice. The frontage of the bar was tiled with Grey Quartzite riven stone. The internal face of the bar frontage was made from a printed Melamine. The width of the top was 450mm.
The total bar run was 4,100mm. The Cupboards at the rear of the Bar also had a Technistone 20mm Classic Ice top. The Cupboard Doors had a "Shaker style" frame with an inlaid panel. These frames were Duco finished in Dulux Grey Steel and the inlay panel was Duco finished in Plascon Evasive White.

This custom made bar had a solid Mahogany top with solid Mahogany front and rear serving shelves.
The Doors had a solid Mahogany frames with Mahogany Veneer inlays. Crystal Quartz Riven stone was clad to the front of the Bar surrounded by solid Mahogany framework.
Ribbon LED lighting was placed under the main counter top which, when lit, caught the reflection of the Crystal Quartz. Displays were created with silver mirrors, 10 mm glass shelves and LED lighting. A Timber foot rest was installed together with a stainless Steel rail to finish the Bar.

This bar has modern clean lines to suit the ambience of the home. It was made from Mahogany with solid Mahogany counter and rear cupboard tops.
Solid Mahogany was also used for the framing to the front of the Bar with Mahogany veneers for the inlays to the framing.
The displays had silver mirrors and LED lighting to give life to the back of the Bar.

This is a 5 metre Mahogany bar with curved ends. Solid Mahogany was used to construct the bar top, lower serving shelf and rear cupboard tops. Crown Mahogany veneers were use in the construction of the canopy and bar frontage. LED downlighters were installed in the canopy and the displays.
Two displays were installed on the rear wall with a centralised tv. There is a footrest with stainless steel tubing along the front of the bar which complements the stainless steel banding on the bar front and canopy.

This bar has a “U shaped Design“ and rounded ends; the top, front serving shelf and cupboard tops were made from solid Mahogany.
The frontage of the bar and doors were constructed from Mahogany veneers with solid Mahogany framework. All the skirting, edging and capping used solid Mahogany.
Two displays were created on either side of the window, and had silver mirrors with 10 mm glass shelves. Below the displays and window cupboards and shelves were created. Space was created for a fridge in the centre of the rear cupboard run.
A canopy with lighting was created which followed the shape of the bar and it returned to the back wall. A timber boxed foot rest with steel tubing finished the look of the bar.

The right hand bar run was designed to accommodate a Scotsman Ice Making Machine.
Three Displays created against the rear wall. The centre display had an Optics Rail. The displays have Bronze mirrors and 10 mm glass shelves.
Below the displays cupboards and shelves were installed. The centre of the cupboard run was designed to accommodate a 2 door stainless steel/glass door under bar fridge. The right hand cupboard was designed to accommodate a solid Brass bowl and Goose neck tap.
A suspended canopy was created which followed the shape of the bar and it returned to the back wall. LED down lighters (steel finish) were installed in the canopy and display units, together with a dimmer switch. An LED ribbon was installed in the underside of the Bar counter frontage.
A timber boxed foot rest with Brass tubing was installed the finish the look of the Bar.
This Bar was “U shaped” in design with 45 deg ends.
The timbers were custom stained to a Rosewood finish. The Bar top, front and rear serving shelves had Technistone Diamond stone as the finish.
The frontage of the bar and doors were constructed from Mahogany veneers with solid Mahogany framing.
All the skirting, edging and capping was made from solid Mahogany.

This "L" shaped bar was custom made to fit into a corner of the room. This design in Mahogany had a "Raised and Fielded " panel finish with solid counter tops and cupboard tops and doors.
The corner section had a custom thrown copper mini basin and goose neck tap. The bronze mirrors softened the down lit displays which were complemented by 10mm thick glass shelves. A Brass angle rail finished the look of the timber foot rest.
