Modern Kitchen

The Wood Studio project managed the installation of this Kitchen and Scullery for the client which involved management of various trades including construction, floor laying, painting , electrics and plumbing. The client brief was to create a modern, clean look kitchen that was practical to use and maintain.     The Kitchen floor was relayed in Afristone Smoglight coloured Cement, and the walls were painted in Dulux Dutch Gold 4. Modern Indigo Blue Bar

The Bar and Floating displays were made from Ash which was coloured with Rubio Monocoat Indigo Blue. The Counter tops and Cupboard Tops were in Technistone Crystal Nevada. The frontage to the Bar was covered in Eastern Blend Riven Stone. This Bar was designed by The Wood Studio to give a theme of modern clean lines in a colour finish that was distinctive. Bar Window

What was the architect thinking about when he designed this off shoot to the main hallway and open plan lounge – a spare area for a large fridge!! Solution: Create a Bar area overlooking the patio through the sliding folding windows. This custom made area was constructed in Mahogany with a Technistone counter on both sides of the windows. A mini prep bowl was incorporated into the bar area with displays above the cupboards

Mahogany Bar

Mahogany Veneers were used for the divisions of the displays and the shell scheme of the cupboards. Three Displays were installed against the rear wall. The displays had silver mirrors and 10mm glass shelves. Below the displays cupboards and shelves were created. Space was allowed for 2 x 500mm x 550mm x 860mm fridges under the front serving shelf.

Bar with Duco painted finish with Technistone counters and Riven Stone bar frontage

The Bar top and front serving shelves were made from Technistone 20mm Classic Ice. The frontage of the bar was tiled with Grey Quartzite riven stone. The Cupboards at the rear of the Bar have a Technistone 20mm Classic Ice top. The Cupboard Doors have a frame with an inlaid panel. The frame is Duco finished in Dulux Grey Steel and the panel was Duco finished in Plascon Evasive White. A space was created under the front serving shelf for refrigeration. Mahogany Display Case

  The Cupboard tops, skirting, capping and edging were made from solid Mahogany timber. The balance of the Bookcase is made from Mahogany veneers. Double veneer boards were used to create 34mm divisions. The Bookshelves were made from 22mm Mahogany veneers. This thickness gives strength and depth to the bookcase. The centre section of the display case is open to allow for a server section giving space for plates and other dishes. The doors have solid timber frames with veneer inlays. The bookcase runs from floor to 2.7 m high.

Large Mahogany Bookcase

  The room for this bookcase has a double volume ceiling height. The Cupboard top, skirting, capping and edging was made from solid Mahogany timber. The balance of the Bookcase was made from Mahogany veneers. Double veneer boards were used to create 34mm divisions. The Bookshelves were made from 22mm Mahogany veneers. This thickness gave strength to the bookcase. One section of the shelving was spaced 450mm apart for tall books and the balance were spaced 350mm apart. The doors has solid timber frames with veneer inlays. The bookcase extends from floor to 2.7 m high.
